2008 to (not) to do list
I took last year's list and edited it. Here it is:
- Stop using the elevator at work. It's only 3 storeys (50 stairs).
Walk up first thing in the morning and while walking, think about how
furtunate I am that I have a good job and I get to do what I like. At
lunchtime, walk up and think about how good it is that I get to eat a
good lunch every day. In the afternoon, with a coffee in my hand, walk
up the stairs and think about how lucky I am that i'm climbing up these
bloody stairs for the last time that day.
Well, I certainly used the stairs this year more often but I still have to use them more, especially in the mornings. And I totally forgot about what to think in the meantime.
- Don't smoke. It would be plain stupid to smoke even one cigarette
after my nose surgery. Smoke induces mucus (aka: snot) production and
that can cause my nose to block up again. Is this the only reason not
to smoke? No it isn't.
Hmm...everything was all good until about June when hell broke loose in the neighborhood and I started to smoke again. And quit again. But this time I can feel it's going to last. No more stress, no more smoke. It's all gonna be good. - Not too much booze. Not that i'm an alcoholic but i like beer. I will drink more wine. It's healthier.
I still had too much beer over wine. But it's cheaper. Sigh. Discipline.
- No pops and carbonated junk with tons of sugar.
Getting there but...
- No junk food. What's the point. Is it because it's expensive? Is it
good because it's very unhealthy? Subway and pizzas and other
non-McDonalds style stuff is OK once in a while. But i should cook more
often.
Getting there but...
- Wake up earlier, go to bed earlier. If i woke up around 6:6-30 i
would have more time for the puppy in the morning and i could eat a
nice and relaxed breakfast instead of having super hectic spleep-in
mornings. I could also go for a 15 minute jog! Awesome! But i would
have to go to bed earlier because i need my 6-7 hours of sleep.
This is what I need to work on the most. I did go swimming twice and jogging 3 times. Now that we live close to some cool paths I can go for walks more often.
- Do exercise. Nothing super crazy but my beer belly could use a few push ups and sit ups and some jogging.
Same thing as #6 - Be happier in general. Hmmm...be happier, huh? Have a more positive
attitude in general. This doesn't mean i want to close my eyes and
block out everything unpleasant. It means i shouldn't get grumpy if
miss breakfast time at Timmis.
Good idea. Let's not get too stressed out if the train with 2000 people on board stops at Mimico to pick up 2 passangers.
- Buy CDs. Lots of CDs. And i mean don't download them but go out and
buy them. It soooo much fun buying CDS. The greatest time is when i
play them for the first time and i'm looking at the cover and the
lyrics in the meantime. It cannot be done with mp3s, mp3s are so very
impersonal. Grrr..I have a lot of mp3s...sigh
I got tons of CDs for christmas. And planning to but more in Hungary when I go this year.
Turns out it is a pretty good list from 2007, just need to make it happen that's all. Piece of cake. (which I can't eat, haha)

Life Sentence,
No Parole
Murderers and rapists get out of jail over time. A chained dog serves a life sentence with no parole only because he is a dog while all he wants is to be with you and give you his unconditional love.
You agree this is wrong, don't you? Then you say "that's too bad", sigh, and move on. Do something about it. Please.
Donate to Dogs Deserve Better to help unchain dogs and provide a kind, more loving life for them.
They are unseen. Forgotten. Alone. Forever. On a chain. Dying in the back yard of humans.
