Sushi, a seagull, The Secret & more

Oh boy, so many things have happened lately, it's impossible to blog everything. Once I wanted to invent the thoughtblogger that records every thought we have and uploades it online or something. Hmm...it must have an advanced filter because I don't want everybody to know what i think about everything.

Sushi

SushiAnyhow, yesterday we went out for lunch with Marcel & Keith to the sushi place on Queen St. They were the ones who made me try sushi in the first place.
The beer was good and we were talking about work for a while when Marcel asked us if we heard that they found traces of water on Mars. Yes, we sort of heard about it but Marcel knows the details of Mars stuff so starts going on and on about Mars and the converstaion shift to astrology and what if we were positive there was life on Pluto and how fast we can travel and who has a Star Trek Manual anyways, etc.
We came to the conclusion that the fastest way of traveling is teleporting. And this triggered an avalanche of questions about creation and moving atoms.
I'm not very confident talking about these kind of stuff because I don't know shit about the topic - it's good to hear others' theories. It's plain weird that computer geeks talk about the dao (which i learned cannot be talked about:S) and energy and "the universal repository of souls".

A seagull

Jonathan Livingston SeagullI'm thinking, it would be good to know a couple of movies or books about this topic and within 5 minutes Keith starts to talk about this book titled "Jonathan Livingston Seagull" (Wiki article).
It took me a while to find it because I didn't remember the title and searched for Anderson the Seagull and John Anderson's Seagull but why i googled "seagull dao" i found Mr. Livingston.
You can read the book here. Keyword rich anchor text: Jonathan Livingston Seagull by Richard Bach 1972

I got part of my wish: Now i know a book to read (it's printing now). Little did i know at the time that i would get another part of my wish later that day.

The Secret

The secret Steve and Aniko are not ordinary people. They know the secret and they are nice enough that they want to share it with us. So after a few beers, tea and run&coke and plenty of puppy play time we sit down to watch "The Secret" which is a movie focusing on the law of attraction:

"The Law of Attraction simply says that you attract into your life whatever you think about. Your dominant thoughts will find a way to manifest. "
"This Law is a primary tool for the Soul to master physical life on the Earth plane. It ensures that all conditions and situations that the Soul desires for eventually mastering material reality are drawn to the attention of the human intellect by virtue of the oneness of universe energy."
Long story short: Focus on what you want, not on what you don't want. If you want to be happy focus on being happy, don't focus on not being depressed.
By focusing on what I wanted (a good book and movie), i got them both withing a day. Cool, huh?

& more

Daisy Daisy is a smart dog. When she pukes, she pukes next to the carpet.

She knows that carpet is for peeing only. And she doesn't feel a lot of self pity either: she know that she probably should not have eaten pieces of her blankie, a dozen slices of ginger, dry grass, dust bunnies, kleenex and about half a pound of kibble without chewing.

Life Sentence,
No Parole

Murderers and rapists get out of jail over time. A chained dog serves a life sentence with no parole only because he is a dog while all he wants is to be with you and give you his unconditional love.

You agree this is wrong, don't you? Then you say "that's too bad", sigh, and move on. Do something about it. Please. Donate to Dogs Deserve Better to help unchain dogs and provide a kind, more loving life for them.

They are unseen. Forgotten. Alone. Forever. On a chain. Dying in the back yard of humans.
